Our Programs
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” — Nelson Mandela
At Monrovia Preschool, we believe every child is full of potential — and early childhood is the perfect time to nurture that potential with love, guidance, and engaging learning experiences. Our programs are designed to support each stage of development, providing age-appropriate academics, social-emotional growth, and joyful play in a safe and caring environment.

Toddler Program
(Starting at 18 Months)
Our Toddler Program provides a warm, nurturing start for our youngest learners. Beginning at 18 months, children are immersed in a rich environment filled with music, movement, and sensory exploration that supports their brain, language, and motor development.
We emphasize connection, consistency, and curiosity as toddlers begin discovering the world around them. Our dedicated toddler playground offers age-appropriate equipment that supports gross motor growth and outdoor exploration.
We gently introduce simple routines and early self-help skills — including potty training — which is encouraged at the child’s own pace, with loving support from teachers.
💛 Parents love how quickly their little ones feel safe, engaged, and excited to return each day — even when it’s their first school experience.

2-Year-Old Preschool Class
Our 2-year-old class offers a playful introduction to early learning in a language-rich, socially supportive setting. Through songs, toys, movement, and story time, children begin to explore letters, numbers, shapes, and colors in fun, meaningful ways.
We focus on helping children build:
-
Early language and communication skills
-
Confidence in sharing, taking turns, and expressing needs
-
Comfort with routines and transitions
Children do not need to be potty trained to enroll. Our team works closely with families to support this process with patience and consistency.
Parents appreciate that their child is learning while having fun — developing both independence and the joy of being part of a group.

Welcome
3-Year-Old Preschool Class
Our 3-year-old preschoolers are ready to dive deeper into learning — and we do it in ways that feel fun, engaging, and full of wonder. We use a dual emergent approach in both English and Spanish, helping children develop strong bilingual foundations while growing in every area of development.
Children begin to explore:
-
Letter recognition and sounds through songs, games, and visuals
-
Early writing skills like name recognition and name writing
-
Number sense, colors, and shapes through hands-on learning centers
-
Social and emotional expression through role-play and guided interactions
Language development is a major focus at this stage. Through interactive storytelling, music, movement, and pretend play, children grow more confident in expressing themselves and understanding others.
Parents tell us their child becomes more talkative, curious, and eager to learn — while developing real academic readiness in a joyful way.

Transitional Kindergarten (Ages 4–5)
Our Transitional Kindergarten program gives children the strong foundation they need for kindergarten and beyond — while making learning fun and meaningful every day.
We use a play-based, multisensory teaching model that blends academics with exploration, movement, and creativity. We continue our dual emergent English and Spanish instruction while deepening skills across all learning areas.
Children build early reading readiness through:
-
Daily phonics activities that build sound awareness and decoding
-
Letter-sound correspondence through songs, games, and small-group instruction
-
Name writing and letter formation practice
Early math is explored through:
-
Counting, number ID, and one-to-one correspondence
-
Sorting, patterning, sequencing, and categorizing
-
Calendar, measurement, and problem-solving activities
We also introduce simple science experiments, art projects, rhythm and movement, and structured group games to strengthen motor development and critical thinking.
Most importantly, children build strong social-emotional skills — learning how to cooperate, take responsibility, and follow multi-step directions within a caring classroom community.
Parents love how this class blends kindergarten readiness with the wonder of early childhood — creating confident, capable, and curious learners.
